Payments Made Simple
Financial & Payment Options
Understand your options before treatment begins — no surprises, no pressure.
Straightforward, Judgment-Free Payment Options
We want you to feel comfortable moving forward with treatment — not confused about the cost. Before any procedure begins, our team walks you through what the visit involves, what your out-of-pocket cost is expected to be, and which payment options are available to you.
We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash, and check. For treatment that goes beyond what you’d like to pay for in one visit, we offer two third-party financing options: CareCredit and Sunbit.
Third-Party Financing
Both financing options below are provided by outside companies. Approval, interest rates, terms, and monthly payments are set by the provider — not by our office — and are subject to your credit and their eligibility criteria.
Third-Party Provider
CareCredit
CareCredit is a healthcare credit card designed for medical and dental expenses. Once approved, you can use it to pay for dental care at our office and at other providers who accept it. Applications can be completed online in minutes.
Third-Party Provider
Sunbit
Sunbit offers point-of-sale financing with a soft credit check that won’t affect your credit score to apply. Many patients find out in about a minute whether they qualify and what monthly payment they’ll have.
You’ll leave our website to complete either application. Terms, rates, and approval are handled directly by CareCredit or Sunbit.
No Dental Insurance? We Have a Membership Plan.
Belfast River Dental Membership Plan
Our in-office membership plan is a simple alternative for patients without dental insurance. It covers your routine visits and offers a set discount on other treatment. This is a dental membership plan, not dental insurance.
Have Insurance?
We are in-network with several major dental plans and will file claims on your behalf. See our Dental Insurance page for the current list and how to verify your benefits.
Financial FAQs
Do I have to pay for everything upfront?
Your portion of the cost is due at the time of service. If you’re using dental insurance, we’ll estimate your out-of-pocket portion before treatment starts. If the estimate turns out to be off after your insurance responds, we’ll either refund you or send a statement for the difference.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, all major credit and debit cards, HSA and FSA cards, CareCredit, and Sunbit financing.
What is CareCredit?
CareCredit is a healthcare credit card offered by an outside company. It’s designed for medical, dental, veterinary, and vision expenses. Approval and terms are handled by CareCredit, not by our office. You can apply online in a few minutes.
What is Sunbit?
Sunbit is a point-of-sale financing option that lets you split a dental bill into monthly payments. Checking to see if you qualify uses a soft credit check that won’t affect your score.
Will applying for financing hurt my credit?
Sunbit uses a soft credit check to see if you qualify, which does not affect your credit score. CareCredit uses a hard credit inquiry when you formally apply, which can temporarily affect your score. Contact the provider directly for their most current terms.
What if I don’t qualify for financing?
Talk to us. We can often adjust the treatment sequence so you’re only paying for one step at a time, or point you toward our membership plan if you don’t have dental insurance.
